Day 2 in San Fransisco

Today we set out for Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39 (which is a main part of the Warf). We saw seals, went on the Bay Cruise, ate yummy food and of course went window shopping. It was a beautiful day.

My first ever taxi!

And our first driver

On the dock

Came here for lunch!

Clam Chowder in a Sour Dough bread bowl...so yummy!

Feeding the leftovers to the pigeons

Hard Rock Cafe

Everyone stopped to take pictures with the 100s of tulips

Self-proclaimed Bus Boy

These 2 put on a show for hours

Take a look at them in action!

Just snoozing....ignoring us and the action

Hello......Good Bye!

After checking out the seals, we went into Pier 39 Square. There were so many shops and things going on. This is the "Captain Jack Sparrow Show". He pulled this little girl from the audience and was showing her what it takes to be a good pirate.

Inside the Fudge Shoppe....all sorts of Candied Apples

And lots of chocolate covered things....these were my favorite. So creative.

Time for our BAY CRUISE!!!

We lined up a half hour early so we could be first in line. We wanted to be at the very front of the ship. We stayed there most of the time....a little windy and chilly but so much FUN. The boat went all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge and then turned around and went over to Alcatraz Island which used to be a prison. Very neat cruise.

Leaving the harbor...this is Alcatraz

Seagull flying overhead with us (I don't think anyone got pooed on)

The Golden Gate Bridge and lots of sail boats

Lindz and the Golden Gate Bridge

This guy was rowing his surf board in the bay...just him and his board

At the Golden Gate Bridge

Alcatraz Island (or The Rock)

This small island early one served as a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison (most know for) and a "Federal Bureau of Prisons" federal prison until 1963

Today the island is a historic site operated by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is open to tours. (Taken from Wikipedia Encyclopedia)

Actually the Alcatraz tour is one of the most popular and was sold out while we were there. Apparently if you go in the summer, you need to make sure you book this tour online months in advance. The tour takes you to the island and you get to walk around while being told some scary stories that happened and people trying to escape. Sound exciting?

Warning sign to those desiring to escape

Emma and the Golden Gate Bridge

Beautiful Sail Boat

At the end of the tour we moved to the top deck of the boat

Back on land again

Octopus Bush

Had to get ice cream here....even though we were already cold. Yum

Jammin' on the drums

This was awesome!! Created totally with spray paint. Cool to watch.
